How the corridor works

Cargo for Central Asia generally arrives by sea, is discharged at a regional port, and continues overland. The sea leg is straightforward; the overland leg is where shipments are lost, delayed or made expensive, because it crosses borders, changes jurisdictions and depends on people being physically present at each of them.

Our group has been running these corridors for over thirty years, and we hold active branches in the CIS countries we serve rather than appointing a local agent per shipment. That presence is what allows a delayed truck at a border post to be dealt with by somebody who can attend in person.

What we handle

Planning a CIS movement

Three things govern the timeline: the sailing schedule to the discharge port, truck availability at the time of discharge, and the border crossings on the route. Seasonal conditions matter — some routes are materially slower in winter — and we plan against that rather than quoting a best-case transit that will not hold.
